At Inter Pipeline, we value a safe and healthy environment for today and tomorrow. It’s not just something we talk about; it’s something we do. Our relationship with the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC) is an example of that commitment in action.
AIWC on-profit, charitable organization dedicated to rehabilitating injured, orphaned and contaminated wildlife. They are open 365 days a year and admit more than 1,600 wild animals each year from anywhere in Alberta.
Our support for AIWC spans over five years beginning with funding for an aquatic bird hospital built in 2015/2016, an aquatic bird and aquatic mammal centre (pre-release enclosures) starting construction in 2017, and a mobile wildlife care unit to round out the five-year sponsorship in 2018/2019. Beyond that though, this is a favourite location for our employees to volunteer, and during non-pandemic times, a spot where you might easily bump into one or employees with their sleeves rolled up and their work boots on.
