May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to encourage open conversations and remind one another that mental well‑being matters. This is an important element of our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees and our communities and building relationships and trust with communities and Indigenous partners.
While mental health deserves attention year‑round, May offers an important moment to pause and amplify messages of support, connection, and hope. These are the same values at the heart of The Robb Nash Project, which uses music and storytelling to create safe spaces for young people to talk openly about their mental health.
Inter Pipeline has proudly supported The Robb Nash Project since 2018. This year we extended our support by bringing the organization’s youth mental health concert to Fort McMurray, reaching thousands of students and educators in a community where we live and work. Close to 1,000 students and educators from Indigenous and local schools in the Fort McMurray and surrounding area got to experience the concert. Through powerful performances and deeply personal stories, Robb Nash created a safe and engaging space where young people were encouraged to reflect on their own mental health, speak openly about challenges, and understand the importance of seeking help when they need it.
I’ve been fortunate to attend a Robb Nash Project concert twice now, and each time I walk away equally impacted by his message. As a parent of two young children, seeing how openly students responded really resonated with me. It reinforced how important programs like this are. It’s not just a concert; it’s a conversation that can truly change lives.Andrew Bennett, VP Commercial & Execution, Transportation
Since its inception, The Robb Nash Project has reached more than one million students across Canada, helping break the silence around youth suicide, self-harm, addiction, and trauma. For many in attendance, the concert left a lasting impression.
By supporting initiatives like The Robb Nash Project, IPL continues to invest in programs that promote awareness, foster connection, and build strong partnerships with both Indigenous and local communities—values and actions that extend well beyond Mental Health Awareness Month.
