It’s hard for some to imagine a child not having the opportunity or knowledge to get a healthy meal. For others, that is a tragic reality.
One of our key iCare (Inter Pipeline Cares) partners, APPLE Schools works to empower kids in Northern Alberta to lead, choose and be healthy. And it’s making a difference.
Students in schools that have introduced the APPLE School program show a 35 percent increase in physical activity, eat 10 per cent more fruit and vegetables and are 40 per cent less likely to be obese than in comparison schools.
We are proud to support Apple Schools as one of our iCare Legacy charities with a $250,000 per year commitment. In total we have committed $2.12 million from 2015 to 2024.
