Tools for School: IPL Supports Students through Annual Backpack Program

As the summer begins to wind down and the school year starts, Inter Pipeline teams from across the business came together for a cause close to our hearts: helping students go back to school with the supplies they need to succeed.

Every August and early September, IPL’s Backpack Program brings employees together to fill backpacks with essential school supplies for youth in need. From pencils and notebooks to calculators and crayons, each backpack is packed with the commitment to supporting education in our communities.

Whether it’s a rural school district or a city-based youth organization, IPL’s Calgary and field office community investment committees work closely with local partners to identify needs and deliver supplies where they’ll make the biggest impact.

“Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s Backpack Program a success. Your efforts are helping students walk into their classrooms with confidence and that’s something we can all be proud of,” adds Kristen.

Did you know? This year, IPLers filled over 1,500 backpacks for students in need, supporting the following organizations: WINS in Calgary, Strathcona Boys and Girls Club, Fort Saskatchewan Boys and Girls Club & Indigenous Community School, Mini Thni Community Association, Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee (CRDAC), Bearspaw First Nation, Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation Education Department, and Bighorn – Stoney Nakoda First Nation.
