I Am Inter Pipeline: Small Beads, Big Impact with Lydia Blais
For Lydia Blais, learning to bead was much more than picking up a new hobby — it became a meaningful way for her to reconnect with her Métis heritage and rediscover a creative passion from childhood.
“Life gets really busy and so we often drop what we were doing as a kid,” she shares. “That reintroduction into beading allowed it to flourish within me. I got that same joy I had when I was a kid, but now I have the knowledge, the skills, and a lot more patience to develop this significantly further.”
Beading has strengthened Lydia’s connection to her culture and helped shape skills that carry into her role as a Management Framework and Assurance Advisor, supporting Inter Pipeline’s Heartland team. In her role, she collaborates with teams across the site to ensure they have the tools and support needed to operate safely and efficiently.
