Our Heartland Petrochemical Complex (HPC) utilizes a state-of-the-art rail fleet to deliver our Heartland Polymers polypropylene safely and efficiently to customers across North America. As rail activity continues to play an important role in our operations and communities, awareness and safe behaviours remain critical.
This year, September 21 – 27 marks Rail Safety Week (RSW) in Canada, a key initiative of Operation Lifesaver’s (OL) annual campaign. RSW plays a vital role in raising public awareness about the importance of rail safety, reminding Canadians that taking risks near tracks and trains can have life-altering or even fatal consequences.
Rail Safety Week is an important reminder that safety around rail operations depends on the choices we make every day. Staying alert, following rail safety procedures, and communicating clearly are critical to keeping everyone safe. Just as importantly, we need to look out for one another and speak up when something doesn’t look right.
